What happened to Cricket in Sri Lanka is a perfect example of what happens when a job that needs very high competence and self-governance becomes politicised to serve personal agendas. Indeed, this should serve as a learning platform for our people to understand why Sri Lanka has reached this miserable state.   Depoliticising cricket to enable its self-governance by individuals of competence, reputation, honesty, and fairness shall be the beginning of the return of our cricket's former glory in the future. As a nation, we can intervene at this stage to disengage the cricket administration from the political grasp. This will be a 'role of model' change applicable to many other professional institutions in this country.
